As busy season is officially underway, I thought it would be fun to start a Weekend Recap series on the Blog! A few of my photographer friends do this and I love the peek into their lives it provides. It’s a great way to connect – and isn’t that the point of a blog after all?
So in this first installment of Weekend Recap, here are a few lessons learned/events that transpired this weekend:
- My husband was away at his family’s cabin for the opening of Trout Season in Pennsylvania. You know that song “I’m Gonna Miss Her” by Brad Paisley? The one where he chooses fishing over his girlfriend? Yeah, I’m too familiar with it! haha. In all seriousness, time apart can be a blessing, and I loved having the house to myself this weekend!
- I’ve gotten into somewhat of a routine of taking Boone to the dog park every weekend – even sometimes before leaving for weddings. Over the past year or so, I’ve met some wonderful people, but I don’t know their names. Instead, I know them by their dogs’ names! Is anyone else guilty of this?! I feel like a terrible person…
- Know what’s dangerous? Browsing the Rifle Paper Co. website! I’m seriously obsessed. I have one of their iPhone cases and just ordered a weekly planner pad for my desk! Helloooo blogging calendar!
- Since it’s officially Spring, I decided it was time to swap my winter purse for a more appropriate one. Ladies, you know how exciting this is! However, it’s apparent you have a lot of purses (but never too many!) when you can literally go “shopping” in your own closet. I found more than a few options to choose from, and some I forgot I had… maybe this is a problem?!
Apart from this, it was a pretty busy weekend of shooting! I shot my first ever Style Shoot on FILM! You guys, it was seriously amazing! I’m heading to UPS first thing this morning to mail my film and I cannot wait to get the scans back! Until then, here is a (digital) preview:
There is so much more of this shoot to come, but I have to thank the incredible vendors who were involved:
Venue | Tranquility Farm
Styling & Floral Design | Event Studio
Bride’s Hair & Makeup | LeMariee
Wedding Cake | Sweets by E
On Sunday morning I had two mini sessions – one for a sweet momma-to-be and the other for a beautiful family! It was wonderful spending time with each of them! I’ll be sharing more from these shoots on the blog this week.
I hope you enjoyed this little recap! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
