Where do I begin with Kara & Zac? These two are gorgeous inside and out! I loved them from the first time I met them at their engagement session earlier this year. Kara is such a sweetheart. We get along perfectly because we’re both Type-A, planners! When she told me she was doing everything herself for the wedding (including the flowers and decor), I knew it was going to be a beautiful event!
When I arrived in Sandy Spring, MD the day of, it was pouring down rain. Most brides would be bummed, especially when having a gorgeous outdoor venue like Woodlawn Manor, but not Kara! She took it in stride. Plus, rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?! I assured her we would get some wonderful photos no matter what!
The ceremony was moved inside of the tent, but no rain could dampen the celebration of such a strong love! Kara & Zac had been together for over seven years. Their love had lasted through years of long distance, and now they were finally together forever as husband and wife! I don’t think anyone had a dry eye as they read their vows. . . (myself included – and I never cry!)
The rain stopped immediately after the ceremony! We were all thrilled to be able to capture some great outdoor portraits. We used every last dry minute to our advantage! And then, it was time to party!! Kara & Zac chose to have live music at their reception and it was wonderful! There was such a great energy in the tent and everyone had a fabulous time!
Kara & Zac — Thank you so much for having me there to capture your day! It was absolutely beautiful and I hope you love the preview of your images below!
As always, it was a pleasure to work with Lori Nansi of Le Mariee Makeup Artistry. Every single one of her brides ends up looking like a work of art! It’s an honor to photograph them. See more of Lori’s work here.
