On Saturday I arrived at Morais Vineyards in Bealeton, VA for a wedding I’d been looking forward to for a really long time! I first met Megan & Dan last summer at their engagement session. We had such a great time together and I knew their wedding was going to be something special. Not only is their love obvious for anyone to see, but the amount of personal details and DIY projects were going to make the day that much more meaningful.
Megan told me that her mom was MAKING HER WEDDING DRESS. She is a costume and clothing designer and had made Megan’s sister’s wedding dress. So when Megan got engaged she requested that her mom make hers as well. Megan was thrilled with how it turned out and I think everyone in attendance was as well. What’s more special is the hand-stitched note inside the back panel – “for Meg, with love, Mom” Talk about a tug at the heartstrings. . .
Beyond the custom gown there were SO many details that made this day unforgettable. A beautiful archway at the front of the aisle, paper lantern decorations, handmade programs, wine cork escort cards, engagement photo table numbers (such a great idea!), gorgeous centerpieces, and even a photo booth for guests!
Megan & Dan – THANK YOU so much for trusting me to capture your day! It was truly an honor to witness such a magical occasion. I can only hope the photos tell your “love story” in a way that does it justice!
Megan, you belong in a bridal magazine!! Truly!
While I was with the girls, my husband (and second shooter) Josh was photographing the guys! He’s getting SO good!
Boys will be boys. . .
I am a sucker for candid Black & Whites! Dan was SO happy!! He’s holding hands with his WIFE!
Such a wonderful bridal party!
Credits coming SOON!
I’ll never forget when Megan told me she wanted to be “Pinterest Famous” – let’s make that happen!
