Sunday morning I met Sandy & Brendan downtown at the mall. It was a beatiful morning, but we were all a little cold considering the spring/summer temperatures of the day before! I assured them we would still have a great time, and promised Sandy that goosebumps do not show through on my camera! I think I kept my word – we all had a fabulous time and the photos prove it!
We started at the Lincoln Memorial, which is becoming quite popular with my clients! I absolutely love shooting here, and each time I go back I try to use different angles, poses, etc. It’s quite a challenge not to fall into what’s predicatable, and I enjoy it! Next we rode the metro to Union Station!! I was thrilled when Sandy agreed to use this location as I’ve been dying to shoot here for quite some time. When we arrived we were sad to see it under a large amount of construction, but we still managed to get a lot of different shots! I can see this place becoming a favorite of mine, especially when all the scaffolding is gone!
Below are a few of my favorite photos from the shoot. As well as a Save the Date design! Sandy had asked me if I had any props that could be used for Save the Dates. I told her that I didn’t, but offered to design one for her using one of her photos. I prefer this method for Save the Dates, because as a photographer I am challenged to shoot for the project – making sure I focus on composition that will lend itself to text being added later. In this case, I absolutely love the result!
Sandy & Brendan it was a pleasure shooting with you and getting to know you better. I can’t wait till your wedding in October!
