Happy Friday everybody! I’m gearing up for a busy weekend with a wedding and 2 consultations! It’s going to be wonderful! Today however, I am so happy to share Rachel’s bridal portraits with you all!
In the five years I’ve been photographing weddings, I’d never had the opportunity to do a bridal portrait session. (Really?!?!) That all changed on Tuesday with Rachel’s shoot at the Vintager Inn near Richmond, VA! It was absolutely wonderful!
I was able to grab the traditional portraits I typically would on the wedding day, but I also had time to push myself creatively and practice new techniques and poses. Having the opportunity to be creative and collaborative with Rachel was fantastic!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with bridal sessions, they are one of the longest-standing Southern wedding traditions. Many brides choose to use this day as a trial run for hair and makeup, as well as a great way to become more comfortable in front of the camera prior to their wedding day. Traditionally, a bridal portrait is printed and becomes a family keepsake that is displayed on an easel near the guest book (at the reception). After the wedding, it is hung in the bride’s parents home for years to come!
Below are some of my favorites from Rachel’s shoot. I can’t wait to see which one is printed and placed near the guest book at their wedding in August!!
*** I would love, love, love to do more of these sessions in the future! If any brides out there are interested in a session, please contact me for more information!
