This weekend Josh and I rented a cabin with our friends near Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia. It was such a relaxing getaway right before wedding season really starts in April.
We spent all day on Saturday hiking to the top of Mount Rogers – Virginia’s highest peak! It was an eight mile round trip hike and the views were spectacular. Not at the summit itself, but along the way we could see the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance no matter which way we looked! We also met the wild ponies that live in the state park! As a horse lover, this was a special treat for me! They were SO adorable!
On Sunday we hiked the Cabin Creek Trail to a beautiful waterfall! It was a short hike since we had done so much the day before, but it was worth it!
We have visited quite a few of Virginia’s state parks. Grayson Highlands is one the prettiest I’ve seen! This next photo was taken at an overlook/pull-off. With views like this from the road, you don’t have to be an avid hiker to enjoy this park!
