For the Love of Film Workshop

One of my goals for 2015 has been to explore the world of film photography. In looking at other photographers’ work, I realized that I am drawn to the look and feel of film. I’ve come to realize that learning this medium can be a bit daunting! There is SO much to know! It’s amazing. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed when I discovered the For the Love of Film Workshop. This was being hosted by two of the film photographers I admire most and would cover the basics of film shooting. I eagerly filled out the registration form and a few months later I was learning from the best!

This was such an incredible introduction to film. Not only did the workshop contain a classroom component, there was also a styled shoot! I was excited to finally shoot film, and it helped tremendously to have guidance from the teachers and other attendees! This was my FIRST TIME shooting film (since high school – which was too long ago to count).

The following week I got my scans back and I am SO excited to share them with you today! I have fallen in love with shooting film and hope to continue this journey throughout the year. It’s challenging and I have a LOT of practice to do, but it’s also very exciting and I’m loving the creative outlet it’s providing.
