Sunday evening I met Meg & Stephen in Washington, DC for their engagement session! I was really excited to finally meet Stephen. (He unfortunately couldn’t attend when I met Meg for our consultation.) Little did I know that I would also be meeting Maddy, their adorable rescue pup! I LOVE it when couples decide to include their dog in engagement photos! It adds such a great dimension to a shoot and it’s the perfect alternative when your dog can’t attend the wedding.
Meg & Stephen love living in DC, so it was important to capture that in their engagement photos! In my opinion, there’s nothing more iconic in DC than the Lincoln Memorial. I shoot there a lot, but it’s always different each time. This time we walked a lot more of the lawn/perimeter because we had Maddy with us! I loved exploring this aspect of the Lincoln.
When we ventured on to the memorial itself, Maddy stayed with Lisa, one of Meg’s closest friends and future bridesmaids! We made it up to the columns before it started raining and the soft, subtle sunset really added to the romance of this shoot. It was beautiful!
Meg & Stephen will be getting married at the gorgeous Army Navy Country Club in October. I can’t wait to celebrate with them and document their day!
