Four, maybe five? I’m not exactly sure how many times we rescheduled this shoot, but it was a LOT! The weather was definitely not on our side leading up to Tuesday’s shoot. Vanessa and I sent countless emails promising each other that this shoot would happen at some point! I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that things always work out how they’re meant to – Tuesday was no exception!
I met Vanessa, Erick and their three dogs at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA for their engagement session. So many things about this shoot worked out perfectly: Erick is a Marine and we held the shoot on Veterans’ Day, because it was a holiday they had the day off work – which meant Vanessa didn’t have to rush getting ready, the weather was beautiful (perhaps the last warm day of Fall) and the dogs had played at the park earlier so they were well behaved!
I had such a great time with Vanessa & Erick. They are such a sweet couple! They met at the dog park in Reston and are now a “blended family” as Vanessa had Lady and Cadence, while Erick had Titus. Luckily everyone gets along!! haha. For the second part of the shoot, Erick changed in to his Marine Corps uniform. It was so much fun! I loved the theme they were going for and I was honored that they chose me to capture it for them!
Vanessa & Erick will be married next May and I am so excited for them! Enjoy a few of my favorites below.
