There is a certain “love bug” associated with all things Georgetown. I’ll admit I’d caught this bug a long time ago. There’s something about the history, the canal, the shops and the distinct urban vibe that can capture anyone – even a country-girl-at-heart like myself. Georgetown has always been a very special place to me, even before I started photography. Since starting my business however, I’ve fallen more and more in love.
This Sunday evening I met Katty & Alex in Georgetown for their engagement session! We were all very excited and very much looking forward to this shoot. Katty had been planning for months – coming up with poses and ideas. This shoot was a true collaboration. When we talked about locations Georgetown provided the perfect blend of natural & urban backdrops.
We decided to have the first part of the shoot focused on natural settings like the greenery around the canal, the gardens at the Old Stone House, and natural stone backdrops. The second part of the shoot was focused on more urban settings like M Street, bridges along the canal, and the waterfront park (hello Rosslyn & the Kennedy Center!).
Katty & Alex – thanks so much for spending your evening with me. I had an amazing time and I’m really looking forward to September! I hope you love the preview of your photos!
