It’s true what they say that everyone knows everyone in a small town. Anyone who grew up in my town would agree with this. We were all told we’d grow up and lose touch with people, but that hasn’t been the case for my generation. With the invention of Facebook and rise of social media you’re able to keep in touch with anyone you’d like. I’m thankful for this for so many reasons. It’s fun to see how everyone is doing – seeing their wedding photos, photos of their children, etc. It’s also fun to see old friends get engaged and share in their excitement! That was the case for me when I saw that Angela was engaged! I was so happy for her and her fiance! A short while later she contacted me about photographing her wedding and I was beyond thrilled!
We caught up over coffee and I finally had the chance to meet Eric face to face. They are such a great couple! It was really nice to see Angela again and hear all about their May 2015 weddings. Plus, Eric is a photographer himself (view his website here) and it was fun chatting about the business side of this creative industry!
A few months later we met again in Old Town, Alexandria for their engagement session! It was a blast. We spent the evening walking the cobblestone streets, knocking on doors to ask permission of home owners to photograph on their lawns (yes, this happened!!), and laughing at stories of their many dates that occurred in Old Town! It’s a special place for them and their relationship so it was the perfect backdrop to capture this time in their lives!
Below are a few of my favorites from their session!
Eric is hilarious! He was cracking Angela and I up the entire time! I love this shot. . .
Like I said, they’re such a cute couple!
Love that one on the right! AND how happy Angela is!
And they said they couldn’t keep a straight face… I disagree! Love these!
