Today I’m happy to introduce you to one of the most beautiful Northern Virginia wedding venues, Morais Vineyards & Winery. Morais Vineyards is located in Bealeton, VA, just 10 miles south of Warrenton, VA. This venue is perfect if you want a private, grand and elegant wedding venue. I first met Nicole from Morais Vineyards when shooting Sandy & Brendan’s Wedding in 2012. From that day I fell in love with the location and exclusiveness it has to offer. The grounds feature lush vineyards, a pond, and a pergola perfect for wedding ceremonies. I asked Nicole, and her counterpart, Stacy, to answer some questions about their gorgeous venue and here is what they had to say:
How would you describe the atmosphere of Morais Vineyards in three words?
Welcoming, Rustic, Elegant
What makes Morais Vineyards stand out as a wedding venue?
The Portuguese influenced architecture, wines and landscaping allow us to stand out from many other VA wineries that host weddings and special events. Our dedication to customer service and attention to detail, for each and every wedding, has enabled us to have wonderful client feedback and referrals from guests, clients and vendors too!
What is the maximum number of guests you can accommodate?
Our Ballroom can accommodate 500 for a cocktail style reception, 350 for a formal sit down dinner reception.
Do you have space for the bride to get ready?
Yes, the Bridal Suite is a beautiful balcony that overlooks the Ballroom.
Is there a time limit on how long a wedding/party can be at your venue?
Yes, our rental is for a total of 10 hours including set-up and breakdown for then event.
Do you have event planners on staff?
We do not currently have event planners on staff, but we do require clients to have at least a day of wedding/event coordinator there to assist in the day of logistics for their celebrations.
Can brides use their own vendors, or do you work with a certain set?
We allow clients to bring in the vendors of their choice for their events. We have a list of vendors we highly recommend, but they are not limited to use our suggested vendors if they do not wish to. We do require the catering company to be fully licensed and insured along with the day of coordinator to provide us with a copy of their business license prior to the event.
What is one important piece of advice you would like to share with couples in choosing a wedding venue?
We advise all couples to take their time and choose the venue that they truly feel fits their personality and vision for their day. Being able to choose a location that they feel comfortable with is extremely important seeing as they will be working with their Venue staff for the duration of their wedding planning process.

Can you believe these crazy winds we’re having?! I meant to post this wedding yesterday but our Internet was down! I was thankful this morning when I woke up and everything was working normally. Returning emails from my iPhone always makes me nervous. . .
Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Danielle & Jason’s intimate wedding ceremony at Morais Vineyards. If you follow the blog you know that Morais is one of my favorite wedding venues! When I was contacted to shoot a ceremony taking place in the Chapel on the property I was thrilled! There are so many unique places to hold your ceremony on the property — and I’ve had the opportunity to photograph a few of these locations. However, none is more rare than the Chapel that sits out front. It’s beautiful but very tiny. It lends itself to small, intimate affairs, which are always beautiful.
The most challenging part of this wedding was trying not to cry along with the bride! Danielle was very emotional as she married her best friend. It was so sweet and it was impossible to stay unaffected by her joy! I put on my best “professional” face, but I was truly moved – as was ever guest in attendance. Immediately following the ceremony we took a few quick portraits outside! It was SO cold and windy, but we maximized our time well!
Virginia & German were wed on Friday at stunning Morais Vineyards! It was a gorgeous day and a beautiful wedding! Virginia & German did a lot of work themselves including signage, paper lanterns, and lighting! They even decided to have their dog in the ceremony! The personal touches made this day extra special. I loved their colors of gold, green, and soft pink. Everything came together beautifully. It was the perfect set up for an awesome party!
Virginia & German – Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day! I was honored to have been a part of it. I hope you love the preview of your images below!
Sandy & Brendan were married this past weekend at Morais Vineyards! Surrounded by their friends and family, their day was filled with so many personal touches – from the hand-made signs in their ceremony, to the Jelly Jar favors, to the wine cork hearts on their centerpieces. It was truly a celebration that represented them and how much they care about those around them!
Sandy & Brendan – Congratulations again! Everything was amazing and I am so honored to have been a part of your big day! I hope you’re having a fabulous time in Costa Rica – and I hope you love the preview of your images!
There is no better way for a bride to learn the ins and outs of wedding planning than from a former bride herself! It is in this spirit that I’m excited to launch the Real Bride Series – where we’ll hear from past brides I’ve had the pleasure of working with!

Q: How many people attended your wedding?
Q: How much time did you have to plan your wedding?
A: 1.5 years
Q: Did you have help with the wedding planning?
A: My mom
Q: If there is one thing that you could have done differently what would it be?
A: Tough question because we were lucky enough to have our wedding day go very smoothly. I would probably say hiring a videographer would have been nice. The photos captured the wedding perfectly, but having a clip of the ceremony and Best Man/Matron of Honor speeches would have been nice.
Q: What was the biggest challenge that day?
A: Staying calm! It was not too much of a challenge per say, but more of constantly reminding myself to slow down and take it all in.
Q: What was one of the most memorable moments from your wedding?
A: The moments with Beth after the ceremony and family photos were taken. She really helped us slow down and focus on the intimacy between us in the moments after we became husband and wife.
Q: What is your favorite picture from your wedding day?
A: Can I pick more than one?! The first look from my father is priceless. The candid moment when we were walking up the aisle in the recessional (gorgeous black and white) and back down to the ceremony sight for pictures. We also loved the posed picture in front of the fountain.
Q: What’s the biggest piece of advice you can give to other brides that are planning their wedding?
A: Stay organized, work with a great team of people, and effectively communicate your wants/needs with them.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share with brides?
A: If Beth T Photography is on your list of potential photographers for your wedding day/special occasion, make sure she is at the top. The constant communication, professionalism, and overall ease of working with her is unbeatable. Not to mention, the quality of her photos and skill level are tremendous.
Thank you so much Megan! If you’d like to see the full post from her wedding, you can view it here!
